: Opis.: ABOUT CANADA METAL Historical Heritage, Modern Expertise Canada Metal is the oldest and most diversified producer and marketer of processed lead-based products in Canada. From its humble beginnings as a small family business that got its start well over a century ago, Canada Metal now serves clients across North America and globally. Our company boasts modern manufacturing facilities in Montreal, as well as regional sales offices in Toronto and Calgary. At Canada Metal, we pride ourselves on ownership and management that are dedicated to the success of our clients. We are flexible; we work with your specifications, or work with you to create the specifications required for your project. Throughout the process, we bring deep knowledge of design, manufacturing processes and specialized applications to each solution. Nothing leaves our facility unless we’re completely satisfied. As a secondary lead producer, we understand that our products are only as good as the raw metals from which they are made. Consequently, we have formed valued partnerships with other industry leaders such as Cominco, Hudson Bay Mining, Noranda and Alcan to ensure consistent quality and traceability. Celebrating Over a Century of Excellence Canada Metal traces its origins back to 1893. The company got its start as a small scrap metal collection business when its founder, Mr. W. G. Harris, started up the business at the age of 17 in the heart of Toronto. The company was incorporated in 1906 and quickly grew from a family business to a prospering enterprise with a national presence, gaining the respect and trust of its customers. By 1922, Canada Metal was operating from coast to coast, with offices in Quebec, British Columbia, and Manitoba in addition to its national headquarters on Toronto’s Fraser Avenue. In 1929, the Harris family sold Canada Metal to the National Lead Company of New York, which later came to be known as NL Industries. Over the course of the next 50 years, the company underwent further diversification and expansion, during which time a fifth branch in Alberta was opened. In 1965, the company was sold for a second time to Consolidated Mining and Smelting, now known as Cominco Ltd. In 1985, a rationalization program was undertaken to make the company even more competitive, resulting in the divestiture of several divisions and subdivisions and the construction of modern, industry-leading facilities. : BASIC INFORMATION: : Business type: : Main products: : Annual turnover: : Established: : Certificates: : Location: : Owner: : Number of employees: : The largest sales areas: : CE product certificates: : Sales department: : Contact: Send a message.
