: Opis.: About Us Harrell Machinery Sales, Inc. is a sales agency specializing in equipment sales to the U.S. and world wide carpet and floor covering industry. The firm was started in 1982 by Bob Harrell after almost 25 years in various carpet manufacturing and distribution positions in the industry. At that time, equipment designers and builders for the industry were located in the heart of the industry in Dalton, Georgia, as well as Europe. The local builders were seeing the tail end of the period of spectacular growth in the carpet industry, but many equipment builders lacked a professional sales team to call on the carpet trade. The European equipment builders were faced with the task of selling to the U.S. market without local representation and consequently lacked knowledge of the real decision makers in the U.S. market. Initially the firm specialized in dyeing and finishing equipment sales from U.S. equipment builders, but soon began offering equipment from builders in Holland, then Germany, then England and Japan. Some of these associations have lasted for twenty years and longer. As the business grew, Ralph Williams, a 25 year veteran carpet manufacturer, came into the company as a partner in 1991. With that addition, used equipment was offered for the first time, and this segment has grown substantially with the consolidation from a large number of small carpet mills into a few large mills. Stacy Junkins joined the company in 1991 and handles administrative duties for the group. In 1996, Steve Harrell joined the company after spending ten years with Shaw Industries, most recently in their then-new rug weaving operation. Jerry Tidwell joined the company in January 2012 after working 32+ years at Shaw Industries in maintenance and plant engineering. In 2012, Bob Harrell retired from the company he founded and built after 30 successful years. Collectively, the four members of the company have over 130 years of experience in manufacturing, sales and service to the carpet industry, both in the Dalton area and world wide.
