We will die. All of us. But what happens when we are dead? And is there life after death? People have always been concerned with these questions.
Different approaches, contradictory findings
He was a successful music manager. Today he is an undertaker and has his own, unconventional company in Berlin. For him, death is everyday life. Nevertheless, he keeps asking him new questions. He starts looking for answers. But he looks in different directions. Existential, scientific, spiritual and theological approaches lead to different, sometimes contradictory, findings.

He meets people who share their view of things and their experiences with him. The search for clues to life after death leads from the Netherlands to England. Cardiologist Pim van Lommel has found consciousness in the state of clinical death during his years of dying research. The evidence of a soul? He talks to people who could look into the afterlife through a near-death experience, but he also gets very rational answers from neurologists and psychologists.

What could we expect?
Does our brain produce our consciousness? If not, what happens to our self after dying? He wants to know - he has a virtual dying experience and experiences his first Buddhist meditation. He looks inwards and outwards - he deals with mental dying and the physical. Religions also raise hope for life after death. But on what basis? And all of these pieces of the puzzle ultimately give a picture of what to expect.
