Stuart Florian opened the doors to American Standard Company, known for tools, dies, and metal stamping. In 1965, Stuart came up with an invention that not only made gardening tasks easier for those with hand difficulties, but also enabled do-it-yourselfers, professional gardeners, and landscapers to create and maintain beautiful gardens and landscape designs. The Ratchet-Cut Pruning Tool was created, and Florian Tools has been manufacturing high quality gardening tools right here in the USA ever since. Three generations later, Stuart’s grandson, Sean Florian, and his wife, Beth Florian, continue to run the family business, American Standard Company, the parent company to Florian Tools. Their son and fourth generation, Austin Florian, joined the Florian Tool manufacturing team this summer. Today, Florian Tools is 20 USA employees strong, and they work hard every day to manufacture and assemble Florian Tools in Southington, Connecticut, with US materials and US labor.
